As we know Gandhi had married in his childhood. In this part of chapter Gandhi seems like he try to move away from this marriage when he become adult. He have talk a little about his marriage life even he had called cruel culture to the child marriage. He was try to make Kasturba like him, Want to make her like what he like.

He also criticize himself about how bad teacher he is, He have try to teach Kasturba Gujrati and English but the lust doesn't make him to do so. The act of making Kasturba like him sow seeds of bitter quarrel between them.

He have write about her that she is simple independent persevering and with him reticent. They have not spend much time together but Gandhi doesn't let her sleep late nigh by his idle talk whenever the are together.
