In this part Gandhi have talked about his high school. He was married before his high high school. He have won multiple prizes and scholarships in his schooling. He was never regarded as dunce at school. At that time he doesn't like exercise and the game which required physical workout like cricket, hockey etc. He doesn't like because of his shyness behavior. But at latter on in his adulthood hi think that how fool was he, and he start loving exercise.

At that time hi love to have long walk which has give him hardy constitution. Headmaster of his school had made cricket and gymnastic compulsory for all boys then. One day Gandhi reached school late for exercise  class at 4'O in afternoon, Because he had to took care of his father. Not only headmaster rebuked Gandhi but also make him to pay fine of 5paise. This incident made Gandhi cry in deep anguish.

In this section Gandhi have talked about his bad hand writing. He don't know whence he got notion that good handwriting not a necessary part of education. But later he fell ashamed for having poor handwriting. He believe that "Good handwriting a necessary part of education". He suggested that a child first taught how to draw and then after let him learn handwriting. Only after he has learnt to draw objects.

Because of his marriage he lost his one year but due to a method he was promote to the fourth but he had to give paper of both 3rd and 4th so he somehow manage and qualify both with flying colors . From 4th all subject are now in English and geometry was introduced both terrified him a lot but after some time he start loving geometry.

There was rivalry between Sanskrit and Persian teacher, alter the Sanskrit teacher promise that "I will make easy Sanskrit for you" Gandhi chose Sanskrit as optional language. Today he was showing gratitude to S . Pandey because Sanskrit induced interest of his in sacred books.

He also said that a child should learn as much language he/she can. He believe that Urdu not as a distinct language because it has adopted the Hindi grammar and its vocabulary is mainly Persian and Arabic.
